Austin Riley Homers Thursday Night
3 years agoAtlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley hit a two-run homer during the first inning against the New York Mets on Thursday during a 4-3 victory. Riley's 14th homer of the season came off of Mets ace Jacob deGrom. The 24-year-old is in the midst of a breakout season, posting 14 homers, 39 RBI, 40 runs and a .280/.359/.576 line through 79 games. While the .280 batting average may seem like overachieving for the slugger, an xBA of .271 supports the production. Riley should continue to hit in the heart of a good Braves lineup and see ample opportunity to improve his counting stats. The former top prospect remains a strong option at third base in fantasy and should be deployed in all formats.
