Austin Ekeler Sets Career High In Rushing Yards
6 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler was tasked with keeping the Chargers in the lead in the second half of the team's Week 2 game in Buffalo, and he did so with ease. Ekeler carried the ball 11 times for 77 yards, posting another sky-high YPC that reminds fans that LA's rushing game is a true two-headed monster. He also hauled in three passes for another 21 yards, and though he didn't find the end zone, he was showered with praise by quarterback Philip Rivers after the game. Rivers told reporters that the duo of Ekeler and Melvin Gordon could be the most special combination he's played with, and this man played with LaDainian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles. Ekeler will likely be left out in most red zone situations, but he should be one of the most productive secondary backs in the league.
