Austin Ekeler Remains Sidelined In Practice

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (hamstring) was seen with his helmet and pads on, but didn't participate in practice for the second straight day. Ekeler has missed games before in his career and missed six games in 2020. The veteran was rested for all three preseason games, but it's never a good sign when a player misses two straight practices and has a prior injury history. More should be known on his status as the week goes on, but managers should insure him with veteran running back Justin Jackson and those in deeper formats can consider rookie Larry Rountree III and Joshua Kelley. The Chargers face a very difficult Washington Football Team defense in Week 1 and if Ekeler is out, managers should look for other options over Jackson, Rountree or Kelley in Week 1. When healthy, Ekeler is a beast in PPR leagues and RB1 in all formats.
