1 year agoDetroit Pistons guard/forward Ausar Thompson (illness)is listed as probable ahead of Thursday's meeting with the Celtics. The 20-year-old is battling an illness, which limited him to just nine minutes last time out against Brooklyn. Thompson started his rookie campaign with a bang, but he's had a couple of difficult weeks, and it's definitely not easy for a young player to play for a team that keeps losing. His minutes have fluctuated heavily in recent times, so it's difficult to project Thompson's role on Thursday if he can play, but Isaiah Stewart's (toe) absence means he could find himself in a big role.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoDetroit Pistons forward Ausar Thompson (illness) won't be playing against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night due to an illness. The 21-year-old was added to the starting five in their last game after Jaden Ivey's (leg) leg injury. He put up an impressive performance during the contest with 10 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and six steals in 26 minutes in a 119-105 win over Minnesota. With Thompson out, the spotlight is on Malik Beasley to step up as the best fantasy streaming option after his strong performance on Saturday, scoring 23 points, two rebounds, one assist, and three steals across 33 minutes.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

3 months agoDetroit Pistons forward Ausar Thompson (illness) has been listed as questionable for the Monday night contest against the Portland Trail Blazers. The 21-year-old slotted into the starting five in their last game after Jaden Ivey (leg) went down with a gruesome leg injury. Now, he may have to miss his first game in a month if this illness prevents him from participating in shootaround and warm-ups before the game. If he's unable to suit up, Malik Beasley will likely be the best streaming option after dropping 23 points, two rebounds, one assist, and three steals across 33 minutes on Saturday.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

4 months agoDetroit Pistons forward Ausar Thompson is not on the injury report for Thursday's game against Boston. He's set to return from a two-game absence. Thompson battled an illness last week and also missed time due to a groin problem. Following a bout with blood clots, Thompson has been limited to five appearances this season. He's averaged 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 15.2 minutes. Thompson is capable of helping out fantasy managers in many areas, but he needs more playing time to make a significant contribution.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoDetroit Pistons forward Ausar Thompson (groin) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the New York Knicks due to left adductor soreness. Thompson missed Wednesday's game against the Celtics due to illness, and now his groin issue is putting his availability for Saturday in doubt. In his five games this season, Thompson has averaged 15.2 minutes, 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists. If he's unable to play, Ron Holland and Simone Fontecchio are likely to see more minutes off the bench. Fantasy managers will be hoping Thompson can stay healthy and consistently contribute moving forward.--Dave Goldsholl - RotoBaller
