A's Plan To Move To Sacramento For 2025-27
8 months agoThe Oakland Athletics plan to move to Sacramento for the 2025-27 seasons with an option to play there in 2028 as well, according to the team. They will play in Sutter Health Park -- the home of the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats, the San Francisco Giants' Triple-A affiliate -- which has just over 10,000 seats with grass outfield seats to increase the capacity to 14,000. The ultimate plan is for the A's to move full time to Las Vegas in 2028. The announcement brings an end to the A's 56 years in Oakland, where the team moved to from Kansas City, starting in 1968 and won four World Series titles. For Oakland A's fans and fans of baseball in general, this is a pretty disappointing development for an organization that has been an embarrassment to the league for a while now.
