Aroldis Chapman Placed On DL
6 years agoAfter he exited Tuesday night’s game following just six pitches, New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday afternoon prior to the club’s game against the Marlins. The official diagnosis is left knee tendinitis, an issue that has plagued him all season, although he’s been able to pitch through it. The 30-year-old explained after the game that he’s in constant pain, but the pain was stronger when he entered the game Tuesday. In his absence, the Yankees have at least three options for an interim closer, but Zach Britton appears to be the likeliest of those options.
