Aroldis Chapman Notches First Save As A Texas Ranger
1 year agoTexas Rangers left-hander Aroldis Chapman allowed one hit while striking out two across a scoreless inning to earn the save during Saturday's 2-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians. The 35-year-old entered the ninth inning to protect a two-run lead. He needed just 12 pitches to close out the Guardians to collect his first save as a member of the Rangers. According to Rangers manager Bruce Bochy, Chapman and William Smith will share closer duties depending on the set of hitters. Chapman is 3-for-5 in save chances with a 2.10 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts across 34 1/3 innings in 2023. Fantasy managers searching for saves should look to add Chapman in all league formats.
