Aroldis Chapman Locks Up Another Save
6 years agoAfter the New York Yankees scored four runs after going down a run early in Friday’s opening game of the Subway Series against the New York Mets, they entered the ninth with a three-run lead. Manager Aaron Boone called on closer Aroldis Chapman, who has been significantly better than he was last season. On Friday night, he locked up his 16th save, lowering his season ERA to 1.35. Of course, the save didn’t come easily, as he allowed the first two runners on base, bringing the tying run to the plate. Additionally, he was seen limping, with the team trainer coming out. Ultimately, it was a minor issue and Chapman remained in the game, closing it out. Afterward, Boone explained that Chapman is dealing with tendinitis but dismissed it as non-serious.
