Aroldis Chapman Finishes Off Brilliant Bullpen Effort
6 years agoAfter the New York Yankees scored four runs in the fifth inning of Thursday’s game to go from down two runs to up two runs, the bullpen would take over in the seventh with a one-run lead. After Chad Green and Dellin Betances tossed a pair of brilliant shutout innings, it was up to Aroldis Chapman to finish the job. Like he’s done many times, the 30-year-old finished off the game without any damage, striking out two on his way to retiring the side in order. It was his 19th save of the season, as the Yankees remained in first place of the AL East.
