Anthony Rizzo Injured Saturday
5 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back) was removed from the game early in the fifth inning on Saturday with mid-back tightness. Rizzo had a walk in two plate appearances before exiting. Consider him day-to-day for now, but the Cubs would be dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of the postseason if Rizzo were to miss time down the stretch. The 30-year-old is batting a very solid .290/.402/.526 with 25 long balls, 80 runs, 82 RBI and five stolen bases in 532 plate appearances. He's a must-start anytime he's on the field. Ian Happ and Kyle Schwarber could be options to replace Rizzo at first base if he misses any time.
