Anthony Rendon Sitting On Saturday, Will Avoid The IL
3 months agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (elbow) is sitting out Saturday's game against the Atlanta Braves but will avoid a stint on the injured list, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. The 34-year-old left Friday's game early after getting hit by a pitch in his elbow, but with the recent news, this injury does not seem too significant. As a result, Brandon Drury will cover the hot corner on Saturday and bat in the six-hole. Since returning to game action on August 7, Rendon has held a solid .280 AVG. Across his past seven games, Drury has posted a modest .238 AVG but has reached safely in every game. DFS players should fade Drury and most of the Angels lineup this evening as they will face Atlanta southpaw Chris Sale, who sits with a 2.61 ERA and 0.98 WHIP and is a favorite to win the NL Cy Young.
