Anthony Rendon Out Of Lineup For Third Day
7 years agoWashington Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon (toe) is being held out of the lineup for the third day in a row. Wilmer Difo once again will draw the start at third and bat seventh. Rendon fouled a ball off his foot on Saturday and exited the game. He hasn't been put on the disabled list because he believes he'll be fine in less time. Rendon has been one of the few consistent hitters in a lineup that's taking its sweet time to warm up. Owners shouldn't be worried despite his history of injury. Difo has been getting on base at a good clip. He's 10-for-37 with five walks, giving him a healthy .357 on-base percentage. But he bats too far down in the lineup to accrue any meaningful counting stats.
