Anthony Rendon Could Return On Monday
4 months agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (hamstring) could return to the diamond as early as Monday, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. Angles skipper Ron Washington addressed the media on Sunday, July 7 and said that the 34-year-old faced live pitching over the weekend and plans to rotate him between the designated hitter spot and the hot corner until he is ready for full-time duties on defense. Rendon was placed on the 10-day injured list on April 21 due to a high-grade partial tear in his left hamstring. He was then moved to the 60-day injured list in May. During the early part of the campaign, the former World Series Champion held a .267/.325/.307 line with zero home runs and three stolen bases in 19 games. Rendon is worth a look in most standard leagues, as he should be penciled in the starting nine every day upon his return.
