Anthony Misiewicz DFA'd By Royals
2 years agoThe Kansas City Royals designated left-hander Anthony Misiewicz for assignment on Friday to make room on the 40-man roster for starting pitcher Zack Greinke, who was officially re-signed on a one-year deal. The 28-year-old southpaw pitched for the Royals and Seattle Mariners last season and had a combined 4.34 ERA (4.08 FIP), 1.28 WHIP, 10 walks and 27 strikeouts in 29 relief innings over 32 appearances out of the bullpen. He had a 4.11 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 19 strikeouts in his 15 1/3 innings with the Royals to close out the year. If Misiewicz clears waivers, he could return to the team as minor-league relief depth for 2023.
