4 years agoMiami Marlins relief pitcher Anthony Bender pitched another scoreless inning in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the New York Mets. Bender was credited with the win after pitching a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts and a ground out. He has a perfect 0.00 ERA and has yet to allow a base runner in his four appearances. He has eight strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings and has the fastest average fastball on the roster so far. While he wasn't expected to have an Opening Day roster spot when spring training started, he may just force the Marlins hand and end up in the bullpen on April 1st. He's worth keeping an eye on in deep leagues, as he could even ascend to the closer's role if things go his way.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
