Anthony Bass Throws A Scoreless Inning On Monday
4 years agoMiami Marlins relief pitcher Anthony Bass contributed a scoreless inning to the Marlins seven-inning shutout win on Monday. Bass pitched the third inning of the game, allowing a hit and a walk in the process. Bass has not yet been officially named the closer, but manager Don Mattingly has shown an inability to figure out any kind of bullpen committee, so someone on the Marlins will likely be the full-time ninth-inning stopper, and Bass has the early edge. He'll have plenty of fantasy value if he's named to the role, but he's not a top-tier relief option due to a lack of huge strikeout numbers.
