Anibal Sanchez Hurls Another Strong Start
6 years agoAtlanta Braves starter Anibal Sanchez had another solid performance on Friday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Braves ended up dropping the game 3-2, but it was no fault of Sanchez as he tossed 5 1/3 innings allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits. He only walked a single batter and struck out six. Sanchez has been a revelation for the Braves this season, as he now has a 2.98 ERA on the year as well as a 1.09 WHIP and a 106/33 K/BB ratio. His 6-5 record is more indicative of a lack of run support than his abilities. His next start projects to come against the formidable Boston Red Sox, but given his recent success, it would be hard to argue sitting him.
