Anibal Sanchez Allows One Earned Run Over Six Innings
5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez stayed hot against the Marlins on Thursday, pitching six innings and allowing five hits, three walks and one earned run while striking out two. He is now 5-6 on the year with a 3.66 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. This was his fourth quality start in his last five outings. The strikeouts are certainly low for Sanchez, who entered Thursday's game with a 21.5% strikeout rate on the year, but he's done a great job at limiting hard contact. His exit velocity against (85.4) and hard-hit rate (28.1%) are both amongst the top 10% of the league. Keep riding him while he's hot. His next start will be after the break against the Phillies or Orioles.
