The Los Angeles Angels placed catcher Jonathan Lucroy (concussion, nose) on the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday and activated catcher Kevan Smith from the injured list in a corresponding move. Lucroy was involved in a scary collision at home plate with Astros outfielder Jake Marisnick before the All-Star break. Lucroy suffered a concussion and a fractured nose. He's hitting just .237/.307/.364 on the year in 236 at-bats but does have seven home runs, 28 runs scored and 30 RBI. Dustin Garneau and Smith will split the catching duties in Anaheim until Lucroy is able to return.--Keith Hernandez
