Andry Lara Continues Strong Run With Seven Shutout Innings
4 months agoWashington Nationals starting pitching prospect Andry Lara logged his third straight quality start on Sunday as he tossed seven shutout innings. He allowed six hits and one free pass. He struck out five. Over his past three starts, the 21-year-old has posted a dominant 0.95 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. This is a great sign, as the right-hander carried a 4.67 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across his previous five starts before those. Overall, since joining Double-A Harrisburg on May 14, Lara has posted a solid 2.66 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 22:56 BB:K ratio. He is currently considered the 27th-best prospect in the Washington system on MLB.com but should have a good chance to move up that list in the second half due to his recent performances.
