Andrus Peat Dealing With Broken Thumb
4 years agoNew Orleans Saints Pro Bowl offensive guard Andrus Peat (thumb) has a broken thumb, according to a source. Peat's timetable for a return is unclear, and it will depend on whether he needs surgery to fix the thumb. As of right now, he has not been ruled out for the regular season opener. The 26-year-old is a key piece of New Orleans' stellar offensive line, so losing him to begin the 2020 campaign would be a slight downgrade for quarterback Drew Brees. Peat played in just 10 games last season, but he was effective when healthy and has been a first-team All-Pro each of the last two years in New Orleans.
