Andrew Vaughn Taking A Seat Wednesday
1 year agoChicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn is on the bench to start Wednesday's game against the New York Mets and right-hander Justin Verlander. It's been a solid season for the 25-year-old as Vaughn has slugged 12 homers along with a .738 OPS across 94 appearances on the campaign. However, Vaughn has endured a miserable month of July, hitting just .188 with a .412 OPS for the month while failing to draw a single walk in his 48 trips to the plate. The former first-round pick will get a chance to reset on Wednesday while Gavin Sheets takes over at first base, hitting out of the six-hole in New York.
