Andrew Kittredge Picks Up The Win Friday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Andrew Kittredge struck out one over a perfect inning to earn the win during Friday's 7-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers. He entered the game in the 10th inning and retired all three batters he faced to preserve a 4-4 tie. Rays outfielder Brett Phillips blasted a three-run walk-off shot in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Tampa Bay the victory. Kittredge owns a (9-3) record along with a 1.55 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 74 strikeouts over 69 2/3 innings in 2021. The 31-year-old is 7-for-8 in save opportunities to go along with six holds. Kittredge is the Rays top reliever and should continue to handle ninth-inning duties despite the return of relievers Nick Anderson (elbow) and Pete Fairbanks (shoulder).
