Andrew Heaney Shut Down Again
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Andrew Heaney has been shut down from throwing for a second time this spring due to left elbow pain, and there's now a chance he could miss the start of the regular season, according to manager Brad Ausmus. Heaney was scratched on March 3 but made another start last Friday. However, he recorded just two outs and the pain returned after the game. Heaney thinks it's a minor injury but isn't sure if he'll be ready by Opening Day. The 27-year-old got a late start to the 2018 season due to elbow inflammation and made his first start on April 13. The Angels don't want Heaney to throw again until the pain is gone, so there's no timetable for him to be cleared. The left-hander was the team's most consistent starter last year, and he's worth selecting in the late rounds of mixed league drafts.
