Andrew Benintendi Suffers Knee Injury On Monday
Andrew Benintendi (knee) was removed from Monday's game against the Texas Rangers. He injured his knee while sliding on the base paths in the first inning. He was hobbling around after the incident, but remained in the game for the majority of the contest before being lifted in the eighth inning. After the game, Royals manager Mike Matheny stated that Benintendi should be fine going forward. Benintendi's late game removal was more about giving him extra rest prior to Tuesday's game.
