Andrew Abbott Strikes Out Seven In Triple-A Debut
2 years agoCincinnati Reds pitching prospect Andrew Abbott made his first start at the Triple-A level, striking out seven batters while going five innings deep. He generated 11 whiffs on 18 pitches, with his changeup having a 60% whiff rate. This start continues his torrid start as he had a 1.15 ERA and 65.4% K rate in three Double-A starts. His emergence is a surprise considering the Virginia native struggled in 2022 with a 4.75 ERA across 20 Double-A starts. This continued stretch of dominance will have Abbott close to the major league rotation and in stash territory for redraft leagues.
