Andrelton Simmons Clears Protocols
4 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Andrelton Simmons has cleared the COVID-19 protocols and can make his return to action. Simmons hasn't participated in any baseball activity since April 13, so it could take him a few days to get up to speed. The Twins have a three-game series at home against the Pirates starting on Friday before a scheduled road trip to Cleveland. Simmons will likely use the weekend to get himself into game shape, then rejoin the team for their series against the Indians. The defensive-minded shortstop was off to a hot start at the plate, batting .355 with six walks and six runs scored in his first 10 games as a Twin.
