3 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Andrelton Simmons (ankle) is absent from Friday's lineup for the contest against the Texas Rangers. Simmons exited Wednesday's game with left ankle tightness. It's not believed to be serious at the moment, though the veteran shortstop has already dealt with ankle soreness this season, as well as past seasons, so this occurrence is a bit concerning. The red-hot Jorge Polanco will start at short and bat second for Minnesota.--Tim Capurso
