Andrei Svechnikov Likely Out For Season Opener
1 year agoCarolina Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov (knee) is set to sit out the team's season opener and is unlikely to join the Hurricanes on their upcoming six-game road trip. The timeline for Svechnikov's return remains uncertain, but it's increasingly likely that he will be sidelined for at least the first six games. Last season, Svechnikov recorded 23 goals and 32 assists in 64 games before undergoing season-ending knee surgery. As a result of his absence, Teuvo Teravainen will probably shift to the left-wing position on the second line.
