Andreas Johnsson Wins AHL Playoff MVP
7 years agoToronto Maple Leafs prospect Andreas Johnsson grabbed AHL Playoff MVP honors, as the Toronto Marlies captured the AHL's Calder Cup on Thursday night. Johnsson, who played nine regular season and six playoff games with the Leafs this season, was outstanding for the team's AHL affiliate throughout the team's quest to the championship. Johnsson posted an impressive 24 points (10 goals and 14 assists) in 16 playoff games. Selected in the seventh round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Johnsson is looking like he could be a significant draft bargain for the Leafs organization. Expected to make the full-time jump to the NHL next season, the 23-year-old could soon become quite relevant in dynasty or deep redraft leagues in 2018-2019.

Nikita Kucherov Good To Go Against Bruins
9 hours agoTampa Bay Lightning right wing Nikita Kucherov (illness) will hop back into the lineup on Saturday against the Boston Bruins. He has been cleared for Saturday's tilt after missing Thursday's matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers due to an illness. The Russian star will re-enter the lineup on the second line, with Yanni Gourde starting the game on the first line instead of him. Kucherov will try to avoid his first three-game pointless streak of the season. Despite a couple of scoreless efforts lately, Kucherov remains the NHL's third-highest scorer with 92 points (28 goals, 64 assists) in 61 games.

Yegor Chinakhov Rejoins Blue Jackets Lineup Saturday
9 hours agoColumbus Blue Jackets winger Yegor Chinakhov will re-enter the lineup for Saturday's tilt against the New York Rangers. He was scratched in favor of Christian Fischer on Thursday against the Vegas Golden Knights. Fischer was ineffective in the game, finishing with zero shots on goal and a minus-one rating in a 4-0 loss. Columbus will send him back to the press box on Saturday. Chinakhov has tallied seven goals and 14 points in 25 games this season. He was among Columbus' top forwards early in the season before sustaining a back injury. The Russian forward has not registered any points since returning to the lineup last week. He has been limited to 12:12 of ice time per game. Fantasy managers should currently look past Chinakhov, but he may provide value over the final few weeks of the season once he has regained his sharpness.
