Amed Rosario, Michael Conforto Return to Mets Lineup Wednesday
6 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario and outfielder Michael Conforto are back in the lineup after sitting out Tuesday, and they will be hitting second and third in the lineup respectively. They are both riding hot streaks over their last 10 games, with Rosario hitting .375 with one home run and three steals, while Conforto is hitting .306 with five home runs, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored. Both should be started in all lineups today.

Michael Conforto Scratched On Tuesday
7 months agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (undisclosed) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The organization hasn't given a reason as to why Conforto was scratched, so fantasy managers will have to check back for an update. Jerar Encarnacion will take over at designated hitter and bat sixth versus right-hander Ryne Nelson on Tuesday. Through 20 games, Encarnacion is hitting .262 with two home runs and nine RBI this season. However, fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option ahead of Tuesday's game. UPDATE: Conforto was scratched due to side tightness but is expected to play on Wednesday.

LaMonte Wade Jr., Michael Conforto, Mike Yastrzemski Out
7 months agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman/outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. and outfielders Michael Conforto and Mike Yastrzemski are all out of Wednesday's series finale against the Chicago White Sox at Oracle Park against All-Star left-hander Garrett Crochet. Mark Canha is starting at first base and batting second, rookie Grant McCray is in center field and hitting ninth, and Jerar Encarnacion is in right field and in the five-hold. Fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised at all that any of these three left-handed hitters are sitting out with a southpaw on the mound. Wade has only had 34 plate appearances against lefties in 2024. Crochet has been one of the most dominant pitchers in all of baseball this year, so none of Canha, McCray or Encarnacion should be particularly attractive DFS sleepers on Wednesday. Canha makes the most sense given his lineup spot and his .272 average (25-for-92) against lefties in 2024.

Michael Conforto Sitting Against A Left-Hander
7 months agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto and infielder Brett Wisely are both out of the starting lineup against a left-handed pitcher for Thursday's series finale against the Atlanta Braves at Oracle Park. Jerar Encarnacion is starting in left field and is batting fifth, while Casey Schmitt is at the keystone and hitting seventh against Braves left-hander Max Fried. Conforto has only had 85 plate appearances against left-handers this year, but he's hitting .316 (24-for-76) with five of his 12 home runs against them. He's had a good start to the month of August, too, going 14-for-42 (.333) with two homers, four doubles, a triple and 10 RBI in 13 games played. Neither Encarnacion nor Schmitt are particularly attractive low-cost DFS sleepers for Thursday's slate of action against Fried.

Reunion For Michael Conforto With Mets Is Possible
8 months agoPer Mike Puma of the New York Post, the New York Mets are open to adding a left-handed bat at the trade deadline and have had discussions with the San Francisco Giants about outfielder Michael Conforto. The lefty played with the Mets for seven season before joining the Giants in 2023. Only three Mets are hitting for a wRC+ above 100 from the left side of the plate (Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo, DJ Stewart). Conforto's 103 wRC+ would help stabilize an already pretty solid Mets outfield if a deal was to be struck. The Giants have been rumored to have made Conforto "available" so a reunion could be considered very plausible. Fantasy managers should continue to start Conforto in their lineups regardless of where he ends up but his .833 career OPS at Citi Field should be appealing compared to his season long .713 OPS in 2024.
