Alshon Jeffery Could Return For Week 6
4 years agoUPDATE: Jeffery is out for Week 6.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot, illness) could suit up and play in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens. Jeffery was not ready to start the season due to a foot injury, and then just as he was trending upwards for Week 5, he came down with a non-COVID related illness. Thursday and Friday's practice reports will tell a more clear story, but Jeffery could be ready to make his debut in Week 6. If he does, it will be against a tough Baltimore defense and as a part of a struggling Eagles offense. Carson Wentz has desperately needed a big chain-moving receiver like Jeffery though, so he may see a good number of targets as long as he stays healthy. Still, he's far too risky to start in most formats even if he's healthy. He's worth checking the waiver wire for, though, as he should have a significant role going forward.
