5 months agoNew York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest) is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt against the New England Patriots according to Connor Hughes of SNY. Lazard did not participate during Wednesday's and Thursday's practice which is not a good sign for his status. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor him throughout the weekend. The 28-year-old has enjoyed a nice start to the season as he has averaged 14.5 PPR points per game. Even with Davante Adams joining the wide receiver room, Lazard still saw a solid four targets last week. If he is able to play, he should be viewed as a WR3 facing the New England Patriots who have allowed the 19th-most PPR points to opposing wideouts this season.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 months agoThe Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt writes that New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard is fully expected to be released after Year 2 of his disastrous four-year, $44 million contract he signed as a free agent in 2023. Lazard was downright bad in 2023 and played only slightly better with quarterback Aaron Rodgers last year before getting hurt late in the season. The 29-year-old was one of the most drop-prone receivers in the league and admitted that he struggles when Rodgers isn't on the field. The Jets will sav $6.6 million in salary cap space if/when they cut Lazard while taking on $6.5 million in dead money. If he's a post-June 1 cut, the Jets would save $11 million with a $2.1 million dead-cap penalty. Lazard was a major miss, catching 60 passes for 841 yards and seven touchdowns in his two seasons with the Jets. If Rodgers retires this offseason, Lazard would be pretty bummed.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 months agoNew York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard caught all three of his targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in a 32-20 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 18. Lazard brought in a 13-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter, giving him six in what was a bounceback season for him after he caught just one score last season. Lazard is under contract for two more seasons after he signed a four-year, $44 million contract before the 2023 season.--Matt T - RotoBaller

3 months agoNew York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard will finish up his 2024 season with a home matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 18. The Dolphins have been tough on wide receivers this season, allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to the position. Lazard has not been a significant part of the Jets passing offense since the team acquired Davante Adams at the trade deadline and is not a recommended fantasy option heading into the season finale on Sunday.--Matt T - RotoBaller

3 months agoNew York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard never had much of a chance to stand out on offense in the team's 40-14 blowout loss to the division-rival Buffalo Bills on Sunday in Week 17. That was especially true with quarterback Aaron Rodgers only attempting 18 passes on the day. Lazard was targeted just three times and caught one pass for a pickup of nine yards. Meanwhile, receivers Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson and tight end Tyler Conklin were all targeted eight times. The 29-year-old Lazard was the target on one of Rodgers' two interceptions on the day. He has not scored a touchdown since Week 6 and has caught only 34 of his 57 targets on the season for 459 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games in his second year in New York. Rodgers has good chemistry with Lazard, but the opportunities just aren't there behind Adams and Wilson. Lazard is off the fantasy radar for Week 18.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
