Alexander Mattison Should See Bigger Workload In Week 5
2 months agoLas Vegas Raiders running back Alexander Mattison should see a bigger workload against the Denver Broncos with Zamir White (groin) doubtful to play in Week 5. Despite the fact the Broncos have an adamant defense, Mattison should see an extended workload, with White not expected to play. Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce has expressed confidence in Mattison and indicated that he's earned a bigger share of the backfield touches after the current lead back struggled this season. The former Minnesota Vikings may not find much running room against Denver, though, as they rank eighth least in PPR fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. Mattison may have to rely on his pass-catching ability to be fantasy-relevant this week and is on the flex radar with the uptick in touches. Starting unproductive players on bad offenses facing great defenses is a recipe for fantasy football disaster for your teams. The 26-year-old should be rostered, but he is mainly a borderline flex option for Week 5.
