Alex Young Holds Rockies Hitless, Should be Added in Deeper Leagues
5 years agoArizona Diamondbacks rookie Alex Young threw six hitless innings against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday to improve to 2-0 for the year. Young allowed only one base runner on a walk while recording three strikeouts in his second scoreless appearance in a row. His start is even more impressive because the Rockies had been averaging 5.1 runs while hitting .259 with a .759 OPS over their previous 10 games. Young has started off his career on a high note, with a 0.68 ERA over 13 1/3 innings, and owners should look to add him in 14-team leagues for now. Owners in shallower leagues should keep a close eye on Young, as he could very quickly prove worth owning in 10- or 12-team leagues.
