Alex Wood Flirts With No-Hitter In Thursday's Win
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants left-hander Alex Wood cruised through the majority of his start against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. He took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of the game before running into some trouble. In total, he wound up pitching 6 2/3 innings and allowing two hits, two walks and two earned runs while striking out three. He earned the win to improve his record to 7-8 on the year. This was just his second quality start over his last eight outings. Across 20 total starts this year, he owns a 4.11 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. His next trip to the mound will be on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
