Alex Reyes Escapes With A Save On Sunday
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals closer Alex Reyes escaped with a save and maintained his perfect 0.00 ERA in Sunday's win over the Cincinnati Reds. Reyes didn't pitch particularly well, allowing a hit and two walks in the ninth inning, but he didn't allow anyone to score and earned his fifth save of the season. There were some rumblings about the Cardinals closer role after Giovanny Gallegos earned a two-inning save on Saturday, but it was nothing more than a day off for Reyes, who has a long history of injuries and will get more days off than most other closers around the league.
