Alex Reyes Breaks Finger Punching Wall
6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Alex Reyes fractured the pinkie on his non-throwing hand when he punched a wall in frustration after his last start with Triple-A Memphis. The 24-year-old allowed three runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings last Thursday and will go on the 10-day injured list. The former top prospect had a 15.00 ERA after giving up five runs in three relief innings with St. Louis to begin the year. The team will re-evaluate Reyes in around three weeks. Reyes still has big-time potential, but injuries continue to slow him down. The right-hander should be an option either in relief or in the rotation later this year, but those in mixed leagues can leave him to the waiver wire.
