Alex Pereira Remains Undefeated At Light Heavyweight
6 months agoAlex Pereira defended his light heavyweight belt for the third time when he defeated Khalil Rountree Jr. via fourth-round TKO in the main event of UFC 307 on Saturday. Pereira survived some early adversity and even suffered a knockdown in the second round before turning things around. "Poatan" pushed the pace fourth round and drew the finish with two vicious body shots to retain his belt. In 19:32 of action, Pereira landed 127 significant strikes, compared to Rountree Jr. who landed 62. With the win, Pereira is now 9-1 in the UFC.

Alex Pereira Gets Second-Round Knockout At UFC 303
10 months agoUFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira took on former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 303 for a rematch of their 2023 fight. In the final second of round one, Pereira dropped Prochazka with a signature left hook. Then, early in the second round, Pereira caught Prochazka with a head kick, dropping the former light heavyweight champ. Pereira then followed up with ground and pound, knocking out Prochazka. In 5:03 of action, Pereira landed 38 significant strikes. This was Pereira's second title defense.

The first time was at UFC 295, last November in Madison Square Garden, when they competed for the vacant light heavyweight belt. Pereira won that fight via second-round TKO.
