Alex Ovechkin Serves Up Two Assists In Sunday's Win
1 year agoWashington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin had his 419th career multi-point game when he finished Sunday's 3-1 win over San Jose with two assists. The winless Sharks came close to a surprising victory, but Washington was able to turn the game around with a three-goal period in the final frame, with Ovechkin assisting Tom Wilson on the game-winning goal and Evgeny Kuznetsov on an empty-net goal. Ovechkin had a rough start to the season and couldn't even get any shots on goal in back-to-back games for the first time in his career in the first few outings, but he has heated up with a six-game point streak. The veteran superstar is still slumping in front of goal, having lit the lamp just twice with 37 shots, but he is now averaging a point per game through eight appearances.
