2 years agoWashington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin is away from the team for personal reasons and won't play Tuesday versus Carolina. It's likely that he won't feature in the rest of the week's slate either. Aliaksei Protas skated in Ovechkin's spot Tuesday morning and could now find himself in a much bigger role for several games. It's a great opportunity to impress for the 22-year-old, who has averaged less than 11 minutes per game over the course of the season. He's on 10 points through 43 games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
