Alex Noren Falters on Sunday at Carnoustie
6 years agoAlex Noren entered the final round in a share of sixth place at the Open Championship, but a three-over 74 slid the Swede down the leaderboard and into a share of 17th. Noren, who came into Carnoustie as a real sleeper to capture the championship, will undoubtedly be disappointed with how he closed the show on Sunday. While four strokes is a significant deficit, Noren has been known for his aptitude to come out of nowhere to capture the title. In the 36-year-olds win at the Open de France at the beginning of July, he was able to overcome a seven-shot deficit during the final round for the victory. The 12th-ranked golfer in the world is starting to inch towards his first Major, but he is running out of opportunities with father time also creeping in.
