7 years agoTampa Bay Rays closer Alex Colome blew another game Friday versus Philadelphia. He allows one run in one inning. The game was tied so it was not a blown save, but he did take the loss. The only positive from the outing was the three strikeouts. Colome recorded an MLB-leading 47 saves in 2017, but his overall numbers elsewhere weren't as impressive as his 2016 campaign. His strikeout and walk rates both went in the wrong direction, and his ERA jumped up more than a full run to 3.24 from 1.90 in 2016. He still should be owned in all leagues where saves are a category. He saved 84 games between 2016-17 while only blowing nine chances. Just watch him for now, as this is his third negative outing already this season.--Jamie Mellor
