6 months agoAlex Bowman finished ninth in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Overall, Sunday was a solid outing for the Hendrick Motorsports star as he recorded seven fastest laps, spent 96% of the race in the top 15, and earned his ninth top-10 finish of the season. Unfortunately for the 14.28% that rostered him on DraftKings, the one thing he did not do was lead any laps, missing out on points that would have helped cushion for the place differential he lost after starting the race sixth. Given how solid he looked on Sunday night, it is unfortunate that the race was shortened as the 10-year Cup veteran looked like he had a car that could compete for the win. While nobody can fault NASCAR for the decision to rule the race official, this race may be one that fans of the No. 48 point back to if he fails to make the playoffs this season. Nevertheless, Bowman will now have to shift his focus to World Wide Technology Raceway (Gateway), a track he has yet to crack the top-10 at in two Cup starts.--Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller
