Alessio Di Chirico Scores The Night's Biggest Surprise
4 years agoJust over two minutes of total action is all it took for Italian fighter Alessio Di Chirico (13-5) to turn around his fortunes on Saturday night. Riding a three-fight losing streak and almost on his way out of the UFC, Di Chirico landed a huge head-kick knockout on rising knockout star Joaquin Buckley. Manzo came out fighting with a sense of urgency while staying ahead on the scorecards. Buckley lowered his head as Di Chirico was lifting his leg for a head kick and floored Buckley instantly. This does not make Di Chirico a must-start the next time he's in the Octagon, but it does help him keep his job in the UFC and give him a highlight moment in his career.
