Alec Mills Falters Wednesday Versus The Mets
6 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Alec Mills failed to repeat his magic from the previous outing when he took the mound Wednesday versus the Mets. He was coming off an outing against Cincinnati where he went 5 2/3 innings allowing only one run while striking out eight. Wednesday, Mills would allow a first-inning grand slam before settling down to go five innings and taking the loss. He was called up from the minors to help out a rotation that had lost Mike Montgomery to injury shortly after Tyler Chatwood has been taken out of it in order to work on regaining his control. We shall see whether he makes another start in the near future but for now, there is no certainty.
