Alec Bohm Homers, Extends Hitting Streak To 11 Games
11 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies infielder Alec Bohm went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI during Saturday's 5-1 win over the San Diego Padres. Bohm extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a two-run shot off Padres right-hander Dylan Cease during the top of the first inning. He added a two-run single in the fifth inning, giving him four RBI total on Saturday. The 27-year-old's 11-game hitting streak is the longest active in MLB. He is slashing .354/.434/.596 with four home runs, 26 RBI, 14 runs, and a stolen base over 28 games in 2024. Bohm will look to extend his streak to 12 games on Sunday and is a must-start in all league formats while he's wielding a hot bat.

Alec Bohm Could Play On Wednesday
2 weeks agoPhiladelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (foot) could return to the Grapefruit League lineup on Wednesday against the New York Yankees, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki. Bohm has been out since Saturday due to a bruised foot, but his injury isn't serious and he should be ready to go for Opening Day next Thursday, March 27, in D.C. against the division-rival Washington Nationals. A candidate to be traded in the offseason, the 28-year-old has stuck with Philly and is currently hitting a cool .344 (11-for-32) with three home runs, three doubles, five RBI and 10 runs scored in 11 Grapefruit League contests. He was a first-time All-Star in 2024 and finished with a .280/.332/.448 slash line, 15 home runs, 97 RBI, five steals and 62 runs in 143 games played. Bohm will need to hit fly balls to reward fantasy managers with more homers, but he hits the ball hard and is in the middle of one of the best lineups in baseball.

Mariners Have Had Talks About Alec Bohm
4 months agoThe Seattle Mariners have at least had preliminary talks about acquiring All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm from the Philadelphia Phillies to fill their vacancy at the hot corner. However, Philadelphia's high asking price for Bohm has given Seattle pause. The Phillies have reportedly asked for one of the team's starters -- either Logan Gilbert or George Kirby -- in a package involving Bohm. Bohm hit .280 with 15 home runs and 97 RBI in the best season of his career in 2024, but he hit just .258 with 11 homers and 67 RBI after the first month of the season. For how much hard contact the 28-year-old right-handed slugger made, fantasy managers would have expected more power, with his playing-time volume and surrounding lineup carrying a lot of his value. While there's nothing to suggest the M's will actually trade for Bohm, a move to Seattle would be a downgrade in lineup and for the ballpark factor.

Phillies, White Sox Have Discussed Alec Bohm, Garrett Crochet
4 months agoThe Philadelphia Phillies have spoken about third baseman Alec Bohm and outfield prospect Justin Crawford in extensive trade talks with the Chicago White Sox for left-handed starter Garrett Crochet, but the White Sox are worried about Bohm's second-half struggles in 2024 (.681 OPS with only four homers). If Philly is able to unload Bohm, they are expected to go after free-agent third baseman Alex Bregman, who is considered a good fit. Another option would be to sign shortstop Willy Adames and move him to the hot corner. Adding Crochet to a starting rotation that already includes Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola, Ranger Suarez and Cristopher Sanchez would give the Phillies one of the best rotations in all of baseball. The Phillies are intent on shaking up their lineup as well while also looking to get younger, with their best and highest-paid players in their 30s.

Phillies Unlikely To Move Alec Bohm
6 months agoThe Athletic's Matt Gelb thinks it's unlikely that the Philadelphia Phillies look to move third baseman Alec Bohm this offseason, especially since he still has two years left of club control. Bohm had a career-high 117 OPS+ in 2024, but he struggled down the stretch and after suffering a hand injury. The Phillies also like Aidan Miller, a 20-year-old prospect who reached Double-A at the end of the year. If Miller continues to progress, the Phillies could be content to let Bohm walk after the 2026 campaign. Manager Rob Thomson benched Bohm in Game 2 of the National League Division Series because of disappointment about his attitude. "I mean, I definitely wasn't my best self," Bohm said. "And it doesn't feel good. But it is what it is. It's a hard game. You're not always going to be getting hits and doing all those things. There's other ways to help the team win, and it just didn't happen."
