Albert Pujols Shouldn't Be On DL For Long

Los Angeles Angels first baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols (knee) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his knee on Friday, according to manager Mike Scioscia. The manager isn't expecting Pujols to be out for long. With the All-Star break next week and the team playing in a National League park this weekend, now was the perfect time to get Pujols some much-needed rest heading into the second half. He's a shell of his former self at the plate, but he still has 16 home runs, including four in his last four games. He should return soon after the second half starts and remains useful in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.
