Mark Leiter To Undergo Medical Exam
7 years agoAfter a strong start to his 2018 spring training, Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Mark Leiter is headed back to Philadelphia to undergo tests on his right forearm. The 27-year-old has been experiencing tightness and soreness in the forearm, according to manager Gabe Kapler. Through his first three outings this spring, Leiter was quite impressive, tossing seven innings and allowing just three hits while striking out nine. In his last two appearances, however, he was way off, surrendering six runs on 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings. Leiter flashed signs of his potential last year in some spot starts, but ultimately finished the season with a 3-6 record and a 4.96 ERA.
