Akil Baddoo Homers On First Major League Pitch
4 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Akil Baddoo had a memorable MLB debut against the Cleveland Indians on Sunday. Baddoo led of the third inning of the game and took the first pitch he saw from Cleveland Indians starter Aaron Civale and launched it over the left field wall. It was his only hit in the game as he went 1-for-3 with a strikeout. Baddoo was a Rule 5 pick of the Tigers this spring and he went on to have a fantastic spring with the club. He slashed .325/.460/.750 with five home runs and four steals. The Tigers have some outfield depth. Baddoo's main competition for playing time will be Victor Reyes, Nomar Mazara and JaCoby Jones. Baddoo is worth monitoring in AL-only leagues, but he won't be a must-add until we see him start to earn more consistent playing time. In deep dynasty leagues, he's certainly worth a stash.
